My 10-Month-Old Little Girl

Today Abbie is officially 10 months old. And yes, I'm sure there will come a day when we no longer count her age by the month, but for now it seems quite monumental each time she is officially one month older. While I am certainly in no rush for her to grow up, it is certainly exciting that she is doing just that---growing up.

I made the mistake of putting up some more of her teeny-tiny baby clothes on Sunday, which (naturally) resulted in me sitting in her room crying over her going-home outfit and trying to remember how she ever once fit in those preemie pajamas. I am sooooo glad Michael did not walk in the room during this time. He knew to expect the tears right after we brought her home from the hospital, but he assumes I'm "passed all that" by now.

It did help, however, to have my energetic little girl crawling all around her room while I did this....it kept the mood relatively light. She now pulls up on anything and everything, regardless of how stable it is. This often means I am diving across the room to steady the laundry basket or empty box while she pulls up on it. And just as of this weekend, she now has learned how to sit back down on her own after standing (previously she would whine until someone came and sat her down).

Here are a few pictures of Abbie playing in her room on Sunday - excuse the mess around her room...I pretty much let her pull out all her toys to play while I was in there working on her closet.

She had just pulled up to stand and was trying to open the cabinet.

So excited after she sat back down all on her own!

"Mommy, what do you mean that my pants and bib clash?"

Pulling up to stand on the tote I was packing up with her baby clothes.

"Wait a minute....what is this?!?!"
Realizing that was her clothes in there...immediately after this picture I had to put the camera down because she grabbed about 4 outfits in one little fist and threw them over her shoulder.

You will probably continue to count her age by months until about 24. It sounds silly to me after that with, "my son is 29 months old" instead of "my son is almost 2 1/2."
