That's right, Abbie has yet another injury. Today she fell and hit her face on a wicker basket we keep in the living room (the same one that contains that lovely duck book). As you can see, she scuffed up her nose pretty well.We fully expect DHR at our doorstep any day now.
We actually would like to attribute the injuries this weekend as one of the many possible side effects of her antibiotic...dizziness. She seems fine most of the time, but when she hops up from a sitting position, she just does not seem to be as steady as she was previously. So we are keeping a close eye on her.
Her eyes are a little bit purple underneath, probably due to the face plant she took on the tile yesterday, but she manages to makes bruises and cuts as cute as anything else. Granted, I was heartbroken when she fell...again...today, but she seems fine.
I am probably one of those first-time moms that other moms would consider overly cautious, but this weekend has really proven to me how quickly kids can get hurt. I mean, I literally watched her fall both Saturday and Sunday. She was right there, just barely out of my reach, but it just happens too fast to prevent. *sigh*
So, Abbie has yet another battle wound. But in other health-related news, her cough is MUCH better and she just generally seems to feel better today that she did yesterday. So there is my silver lining.
