Michael picked Abbie up yesterday and he said she was playing inside her classroom since it was raining outside. He said she had a twin on either side of her and Owen (her boyfriend from the nursery) directly in front of her. He said he had to move them all out of the way to get to Abbie. And then Abbie and Owen did a little E.T. move where they touched fingers as Michael was about to take her out of the room.
I think it pained him to admit it, but he said it really was cute and he was positive that I would have taken a picture of it if I had been there.
Well, this morning as I walked Abbie into the daycare, I heard one of the twins calling out "Abbie" from the kitchen. The boys were already there and eating breakfast, and while one of them was more interested in his food, the other one just kept pointing at Abbie and calling out her name. Abbie reluctantly walked into the kitchen, where I can see Owen has run up from his classroom and is waving a book out over the baby gate and pointing at Abbie. Clearly, this fella knows the way to Abbie's heart. Abbie LOVES books, so I think he is trying to lure her away from the twins.
But maybe Abbie's daddy had a little talk with her last night, because she looked at all three of the boys, and then took off for the kitchen to beg for some more food. Daddy would have been so proud.
