Not-So-Secret Admirers

The vast majority of the time, I am the one that drops Abbie off at daycare each morning. And since we usually get there at roughly the same time each day, you quickly get accustomed to seeing the same people dropping off their kids each morning, and today was no exception.

Abbie was pretty sleepy on the ride to daycare, so when I walked her in, she was still a little dazed, but she eventually went off to see what was going on in the kitchen (despite the fact that I feed her breakfast each morning, Abbie is not above begging for more food). I was chatting with some other moms as I made my way out the door, and I hear the twins (yup, those same boys that Abbie used to hang with in the nursery) both saying "Abbie" from out in the parking lot. I looked up and their dad was laughing and saying, "Oh, so you are already looking for Abbie?", while they were both still pointing at me and exclaiming, "Abbie!!!"

Clearly, the fellas have put together that I am the one that brings in their pal Abbie every morning, so I laughed and told them that Abbie was in the kitchen and went on about my way to the car.

But as I was pulling out of my parking spot, I see that one of the twins is running inside the daycare, but the other one was still standing outside, pointing at me, yelling, "Abbie!!!!" The dad is trying to coax him inside, so I keep pointing at the door, trying to make him realize that I no longer have Abbie with me, but he needs to go inside to find her.

I drove off in a fit of giggles. It was beyond adorable. So I called Michael to tell him about it.

Oddly enough, he did not laugh once. Turns out, he did not find it funny at all.
