What a difference a month makes

I am amazed at how much Abbie has changed since I started going back to work at the end of January. She seems to do something new every few days and it's so exciting to watch!! Don't get me wrong, she could stay two-months-old forever and I'd probably love it, but all the changes are fun and make me so proud.

In just the past couple of days, the most notable change is that everything goes in Abbie's mouth. She has mastered grabbing whatever she sets her sights on, and now she has learned once she's got it, suck on it! I sit her on my leg to burp her, she reaches up, grabs the burp cloth and shoves it in her mouth. Rattles, teething rings and other toys that were just closely watched by her a couple weeks ago are now shoved in her mouth, whether they fit or not!

Abbie's appetite has also increased even this past week. I am always reluctant to make her more than 4 ounces at a time, so I spent the weekend making bottle after bottle and she was finishing them all. She has also started intently watching me and her daddy when we eat, so we thought maybe she was ready to try some solids. She has had cereal now two days and while most of it ends up back on her bib, she seems to love the process and will refuse a bottle right after a spoon feeding. But she gives in quickly. Guess I'll have to keep that up because she really seems to love it.

Another new development: tummy time. She prefers sitting upright (with a little help from mommy or daddy, of course), she will settle for laying on her back. But lately she will stay on her stomach for about 5-10 minutes, happily, but only with her mirror in front of her. It has brightly colored bugs that make noises all around the mirror so she goes back and forth looking that the bugs and the baby in the mirror. I just chant and clap to the side of her to keep her happy.

Also, Abbie's daddy put together her walker. No, her feet come no where near the floor, but she loves sitting up on her own (or so she thinks) and she loves the toys in front of her and she LOVES being pushed around by a tired mommy or daddy.

I'll post a couple of pictures and I'm calling it a night! Abbie fell asleep around 8:45 and still usually gets up once a night, so I cannot stay up any longer. I hope you all have a great week. And Happy Birthday to my dad, who turns 35 tomorrow!!! :) HAHAHA!!!

Abbie in her walker (thanks to her Honey). Oh, and
this is Abbie's new face that she makes - she sticks out her
bottom jaw...I have no idea why but it looks adorable on her!

This was just this past Saturday. I had the TV on
as I was strapping her in her bouncy seat and she started
chatting away to the TV and then would grab Pooh and shove
his ear in her mouth. YUM!

I took this just this morning with my cell phone, so
I apologize if it's fuzzy. But I thought she was so adorable
checking out those bugs on her mirror.

The pictures are precious, of course. SOOO fun to watch her grow and learn. Her Honey can't WAIT to have her this week.

And, uhm, I THINK your dad is turning 45. Might want to check that math, huh?
