Wow. I didn't realize just how neglected my poor little blog was until I just signed on tonight. I guess you could say I have been too busy living my life to blog about my life.
I have tons to blog about since Abbie is a year old now and really does something new everyday. This is such a fun age!!! She is walking now, but only on her terms. If you ask her to walk, you can pretty much forget it. She only walks when she decides to get from point A to point B, so you usually catch her in the act when she thinks you aren't looking. And it is just so cute how she literally toddles.
Abbie is also more mischievous than ever, but you soon realize her actions are out of curiosity rather than misbehavior. Clearly she just does not realize that standing on the opened dishwasher is dangerous, as is trying to grab her daddy's laptop from the coffee top where it might land on her head.
Abbie is more chatty than ever now, but most of the time we have no idea what she is saying. She is at the wonderful age of mimic, so pretty much anything that comes out of my mouth she tries to play back for me. "Det" is her reply to me if I ask if she is wet; "ey" is her adorable greeting when someone tells her hey and waves at her. Oh, and she still has that regal wave. "Dada" is still her favorite thing to say, naturally. She does, however, give me that dramatic, emphatic "MAMA" whenever I do something terribly boring or annoying, such as wipe her mouth or wash her hands. *groan*
I'm not sure if you can make it out in this video, but Abbie also will call this particular doll either "bebe" or "duh", which I blame on the fact that I call the doll Abbie's "baby doll", so Abbie will pick one word or the other and try to say it back to me. She also kisses the doll, which I just adore and I could ask her to do this all day long! She tends to give her daddy more kisses than she does me, but I guess that is par for the course at this age...I still take the kisses with a smile every chance I get!!!
Hopefully I'll post more again soon, but for now, please enjoy this video taken today. OH!!! And at the very end of it, she takes off to grab her CD player/alarm clock in the corner, so that is why you hear me saying, "NO" and the video abruptly stops.
