Gotta start somewhere

OK, so ideally I'd like a really cute background, but every single time I try to set one up, Blogger tells me it did not work properly. So, forget it! I'll try again another day. A new mom does not have hours to play with this!!! I can do wonders on MySpace, but Blogger...not so much!

Honestly, I don't have much to say that the average person would find all that interesting, but I thought I should start up a blog or a website or something so that I can post about my new baby girl, Abbie. Since she's already two months old, I will probably need to go back one day and write about all the things that have happened up to this point. But for now, I'll start with the most current stuff!

Abbie had a pretty good night. As you know, she has yet to sleep through the night, so that will be a huge event in my life and I'll definitely post about that!!! But last night she passed out (yes, passed out) around 8:00 p.m. I'd prefer her to stay up later, but that is a battle I will not win. During her two-month pediatrician appointment last week, her doctor advised to not even attempt that battle! So, she slept from 8:00 until about 2:30 a.m. She was up for 30 minutes (to be changed, fed, and burped) and was back asleep b 3:00. She did not get back up until 6:00 a.m. this morning. Yea!

OK, so technically she was awake and/or making lots of noises several times during the night, but I refused to go get her up unless she really started crying. That worked out pretty well!! Every time she would put herself back to sleep.

My mom wants me to turn off the monitor because all her little noises wake me up, but I just can't do that yet. She is clear across the house and I'm paranoid something would happen and I would not hear her. After all, it's a huge accomplishment that I finally took her out of our bedroom. Baby steps, people!!!

In other news, Abbie seems to think lately that she's a "big girl" and wants to be held sitting upright. She even prefers her bottle now while you hold her with her back facing you so she can look around. I tried to carry her today to her room like a newborn baby (cradling in my arms) and she kept whining until I pulled her up to my shoulder and she could look out behind me. And if you sit her up on your knee to burp her, she just keeps her little head up forever, looking around!!!

But "tummy time"...FORGET IT!!!

She's taking a nap right now, so I have to make good use of that time to eat. Which, by the way, will definitely wake her up. Apparently, she does not think Mommy should ever eat! You would think I would have lost all my pregnancy weight with her around, but that is a whole other post!!

Have a great day!!!

If she sleeps 8-230 and then 3-6, that is an all-nighter to me! :) Once she's a little bigger, she will not want that 230am feeding, you'll see! I am so glad you started this! Love it!
