Crazy Lately

I'm too tired to make clear, concise and flowing paragraphs, so this is what you get:
  • Firstly, if you have not yet made a donation to this year's Walk Like MADD, then please do so now! And hear this: do not give under my name, but rather under Dirk Lindsey's page (I'll try to post his link below). My office has raised over $4,000 in honor of Stephanie Harmon, the late daughter of our owner and president, Barrie Harmon. She was killed one year before I began working at HDB and we are planning to surprise Barrie with all the donations we received in her honor. THANK YOU!!! But now I'd love for you to check out Dirk's MADD page and his personal blog (see right: "Three Angels in Heaven") about his fight to raise awareness after the death of his three children. Our group has raised enough money to make Barrie proud, now go give $5 or so to this family. And if you say you cannot spare $5 and then go buy a $4 iced coffee, that makes you a LOSER!!!
  • On a lighter note, Abbie fell asleep promptly at 8:30 tonight, as usual. She's had quite the week. She came down with her first cold this past weekend. And while you all are quick to tell me how much worse it could have been, that does not mean I liked it!!! I teared up every time I took her temperature and she was running a fever. My husband was practically laughing at me, but I hate for her to be sick. She was pretty lethargic on Sunday, even through my surprise birthday party!!! Yes, I was shocked!!! As my mother-in-law pointed out, my sleep deprivation probably helped. I even showed up to my mom's house hours early and they clearly thought it was a lost cause, but I was oblivious. I am beyond grateful and am still in shock!!!
  • Yesterday I had a blow out on the interstate after spending the entire day whining at work because I felt awful. It was one of those days where you wonder if the day will ever come to a close and you can just close your eyes and forget everything.
  • But you don't want to hear about me.
  • Abbie is laughing more and more every day. I will make myself look like a complete moron if it means I get a giggle out of her. And we are trying to get her to reach out when you come to pick her up, but she really does this best when it's her daddy she's reaching out to...just kills me! ;) She just barely raises her arms for anyone else, but she grins from ear to ear and leans out to him if he walks up while I am holding her.
  • We did respect the 24-hour-fever-free rule with her daycare and kept Abbie out Monday, but she seems to really be getting into the groove now. And while my gut reaction was to blame daycare for her illness, my friend Beverly helped me by pointing out her son has gotten sick a few times and he has never had so much as a toe in a daycare, so I'll just stay grateful that Abbie caught nothing worse than a cold.
  • I also pray Abbie gets completely better SOON! She still sneezes and coughs quite a bit, and I just hate it.
  • OK, these bullets are annoying me. I'm tired and my head feels fuzzy so I'm calling it a night. Chat ya later!

What's up with the bullets? :)

Okay, after reading this blog, my first question is "Are you pregnant?" but what you have is Mommy-Needs-A-Day-Off syndrome! You being tired, the blowout, her cold, etc.---Hand Abbie over to Michael and take a Saturday to yourself and eat a huge slice of cheesecake. You'll be right back on track in no time! :) Love ya!
