Sweet Potatoes? Yes, please!

It has been just over a week since we were given the official go-ahead to begin solid foods for Miss Abbie and I can say, with certainty, that sweet potatoes are a favorite. I had given her both rice and oatmeal cereal before, and both worked out well. But nothing holds a candle to sweet potatoes! I only pray she likes other veggies as much! She has also had some applesauce and while I LOVE applesauce, Abbie was less impressed. She would eat a few bites and then wrinkle her little forehead as if she was trying to say, "Mommy...you know this is not sweet potatoes, right??"

We have also tried out squash. Like I do all her food, I tried a small taste myself. NASTY! It was horrible. I tried to get my veggie-loving husband to try it and he just laughed at me. Abbie, on the other hand, just kept taking bite after bite. She ate it quicker than she did the applesauce!

Next week we will try some of the green veggies (yuck!) I'll try to post some video too.

Oh, and while I certainly do not want to jinx anything, Abbie is now going to bed between 8-9 PM and waking up around 5:30. Yes, that's still a little early for my taste, but it's basically a full-night for us both, so I'll take it! And I pray she sleeps good, long and soundly tonight for my mom's sake. That's right...I have an Abbie-free night tonight! My mom is keeping her tonight and then she'll meet up with my dad and trade off, so I won't see Abbie again until tomorrow after work!! Whatever will I do with myself???

This was taken on Sunday. Abbie was in the best mood all weekend. She was sleeping so well at night and taking pretty decent naps during the day. While she was awake, she was so playful and fun! I just had a great time with her. Now in this picture she had been playing and was listening to Pinky Dinky Do (Noggin...it's ALWAYS on at our house!) when suddenly...she was out! Notice she is asleep on top of toys, books...but don't dare tell her she's uncomfortable!!!

Just making silly faces in her walker

She kept leaning over and would hit her head on the hunny (not honey) pot. No, she did not appear to be hurting herself, but usually she would just leave her head laying
on the toy...yeah, she meant to do that!!

Well, as you know, I got a late start (blasted expedite job...tee hee), but I got her home and bathed and fed and Papa Tuck was a tremendous help. I gave her some cereal in a bottle and she wanted more, so I took that as a good sign. Put her down at 10. Tom heard her rustling around at 5:30. At 6:15 she was chatting out loud. At 6:45 after putting on a pot of spaghetti, I got her up! I can deal with that :)
