Separation Anxiety? (Right on Schedule)

Well, the title is a little misleading. I really do not think Abbie has separation anxiety, she is just unusually clingy lately. She typically does not mind allowing a stranger to hold her briefly, but she will look around for me or Michael, as if to make sure it is OK. But this past week (especially this weekend), she has to have one of us very nearby, preferably holding her. This really does not bother either of us very much since we both work full time outside the home, so we miss her. But the problem comes when she gets sleepy!!!

Today, for example, she is ready for a nap, but will not lay down alone. I have tried placing her in her pack-n-play, which she usually enjoys, but she just whimpers and whines with her arms out the whole time. But when you hold her, she just flops around and lays her head down and closes her eyes, but her arms and legs never stop moving. Fighting her sleep. It is exhausting just watching her!!!

The only thing I am able to do is place her in her bouncy chair and then sit down next to her while she s-l-o-w-l-y falls asleep. But if I get up to walk away she starts to cry. So what do I do? Well, I pull out the laptop and blog while never leaving her sight!!!

Hopefully this will be over quickly. I mean, I love for her to want to be around me, but I cannot hold her 24/7. That was much easier when she was only 8 lbs!!!

Speaking of, I tried strapping her to the Baby Bjorn again to vacuum....yeah, ain't as easy as it used to be, believe me!! This little girl gets heavy quickly!!!

Brief update on Abbie's likes and dislikes. These are, of course, strongly influenced by the fact that Abbie is teething, again:

In case anyone has not seen these yet, here are a few pictures from May that I never posted. I will try to get at least one picture of Abbie with her daddy today, since it is his first Father's Day!!!

I don't think she has separation anxiety, either, but there are just times when they are clingy. She's just massively teething right now. She's so tiny. It's tiring to watch her.

Bless her little red-headed heart :)

I miss her. Honey gots prezzies :)

You are preaching to the choir...Carter has been clingy for a couple months and it drives me nuts. Wait til Abbie starts pulling on your PJ pants, wanting you to pick her up! Ahhhh!
